Elastic Therapy, Inc (ETI) began operations in early 1989. The company began producing medical compression products in a small rental building in Asheboro, North Carolina. ETI knitted, processed and finished medically correct graduated compression legwear. This is still the single underlying purpose of the company today.

Initially, 25 associates began working together to produce these medical compression products on 30 knitting machines.

During the early 1990’s, ETI grew to an associate base of 100 people and 125 knitting machines. The company also expanded from a single rental property to four different buildings in the same area.

In 1995, the company purchased a single building and relocated to Industrial Park Avenue in Asheboro. At this point, all of the operations were together which was quite fortunate as the company began to grow significantly.

During the early 90s, ETI was producing products for less than 10 domestic customers. Today, the company produces for more than 75 different customers with almost half the annual demand sold outside the US.

In 1996, ETI began working on ISO registration. ISO is an internationally recognized standard of quality and continuous improvement. In 1998, ETI was officially registered as an ISO 9001:2000 company, a designation that ETI continues with today. This allows us to effectively serve our international markets.

ETI is also a registered manufacturer of medical device products by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Currently, 200 dedicated associates work at ETI. The capital base has expanded to include more than 200 knitting machines producing millions of pair of medical hosiery products annually.

While the company has grown significantly through the years and has enjoyed the prosperous sales, we have never lost our focus. ETI's primary mission is to produce category-leading medically correct graduated compression hosiery products for venous disorders of the legs.
